The Ferrari F1 Wheel Add-On is a full-scale replica of a Formula 1 steering wheel, under official Ferrari licence. It is an add-on that you attach to a compatible Thrustmaster servo base.

The wheel features a reinforced brushed metal front plate for stiffness and a vibration-free feel. The rubber coating on the grip provides a realistic and comfortable hold. But this is an add-on: you need a separate Thrustmaster servo base to use it.

You control the car with genuine metal paddle shifters, eight push buttons, three metal switches and two rotary encoders. There are two game modes: a normal mode for all platforms and an advanced PC mode that makes 25 action buttons available.

This is a full-size, officially licensed replica, not a generic wheel. Designed specifically for the Thrustmaster ecosystem, it requires a compatible servo base. Its core appeal is direct, mechanical operation, featuring two metal push/pull paddles and a comprehensive array of buttons for race adjustments.

Compatibility and the ecosystem – an add-on, not a standalone wheel

This is a wheel rim module, not a complete racing wheel with a base. You must pair it with a Thrustmaster servo base. Compatibility covers bases from the T-Series, including the T300, TX, T-GT 2, TS-XW, TS-PC Racer, T598 and T818. It connects via the Thrustmaster Quick Release system for rapid swapping and works on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series S/X. The trade-off is clear: without a suitable base, the wheel is unusable. It functions solely as a component of a larger system.

Design and materials – robustness for direct feedback

A reinforced brushed metal front plate forms the wheel's foundation, providing stiffness and damping unwanted vibration for greater precision. The grips are coated in patterned rubber for a realistic, secure hold during long sessions. Buttons and switches are of what Thrustmaster terms ‘professional quality’. As a replica of the steering wheel from the 2011 Formula 1 Ferrari, it has a specific, compact form factor that differs markedly from a traditional round racing wheel.

Two game modes and daily use – flexibility with a condition

Two operating modes increase the wheel's versatility. ‘Normal mode’, for PC, PS5, PS4 and Xbox Series S/X, provides access to 13 action buttons and 3 D-pads. The ‘Advanced mode’, exclusive to PC, unlocks 25 action buttons and 1 D-pad by letting the rotary encoders and some switches act as multiple inputs. This makes it a powerful tool for complex PC simulations, though it requires configuration. On consoles, functionality is more limited but still extensive. The wheel's shape and controls make it optimal for formula and prototype racing; it's less suited for rally or GT events where a round wheel is standard. The included manual is available in Dutch, English, French and German.

The module connects to the servo base via a serial connection and includes a USB 3.0 port for communication with the base.
