The WD Blue SN570 is an internal SSD built around a PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe interface. It delivers read and write speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s.
The 3,500 MB/s speed means files and applications load quickly. This is an NVMe drive – it communicates directly with the processor via the PCIe bus, which is faster than a SATA connection. However, the SN570 is a PCIe Gen3 drive, not the latest Gen4. For most systems, Gen3 still represents a substantial upgrade.
The M.2 2280 form factor is slim and single-sided. This simplifies installation in laptops and compact PCs. The drive weighs 6 grams and is 8 cm long – it fits any standard M.2 slot.
