It’s a single-sided drive in the M.2 2280 form factor, so it fits most modern motherboards. Western Digital positions it within the Blue series, aimed at everyday performance and reliability, and backs it with a limited five-year warranty.

Sequential speeds of 3,500 MB/s mean faster system boots and shorter load times for applications and games—a clear step up from SATA SSDs. Performance is bound by the PCIe Gen3 standard, however. You’ll only hit the maximum speed if your motherboard has a compatible M.2 slot. In systems with PCIe Gen4 or Gen5, this leaves unused bandwidth on the table, a deliberate trade-off for lower cost and broader compatibility with older hardware.
