The Philips Avent SCF883/01 combines steaming, blending, defrosting and warming in one appliance. It is a baby food maker that uses a circulating steam system.
The 1000 ml jug provides space to prepare up to four portions at once. This enables batch cooking – serve one meal immediately, store the rest. The appliance is BPA-free and the jug and blade are dishwasher-safe. A timer helps set the cooking time.
The design focuses on ease of use. A beep sounds after steaming. You turn the jug over to start blending. The open design makes cleaning straightforward. Note: when blending freshly steamed foods, it may be necessary to press the lid down lightly due to material expansion. Also, certain strongly coloured foods may cause staining – this does not affect performance.
