The Philips Avent SCD503/26 uses DECT technology. That means a private connection with no interference from other devices – and crystal-clear sound.
The DECT signal is protected against eavesdropping and doesn't interfere with cordless phones or Wi-Fi. Range is up to 50 metres indoors and 330 metres outdoors. But that depends on walls and other obstacles – in practice, indoor range is often shorter. ECO mode automatically adjusts transmission power: the closer the parent unit is to the baby unit, the less power it uses.
The parent unit runs for up to 24 hours on batteries (two AA, not included) or on mains power. Five LED lights show the sound level in the baby's room – even when the sound on the parent unit is muted. A nightlight on the baby unit gives a warm glow. The unit warns you when out of range or when the battery is low.
