The Bosch UniversalImpact 800 is an 800-watt hammer drill, built for larger jobs in masonry, wood, and metal.
The 800-watt motor delivers a maximum torque of 19 Newton metres. That translates to drilling depths of up to 14 mm in concrete and 30 mm in wood. Electronic speed control allows you to precisely adjust the speed to suit the material – from 50 to 3000 revolutions per minute. This is a corded power tool, however: you are tethered to a power socket.
Safety comes first with KickBack Control. This feature switches the tool off completely if the bit jams, to prevent kickback. For precision work, an additional side handle and depth stop are included. You can change bits quickly with one hand thanks to the Auto-Lock chuck.
