Talamex Jupiter Solar - Solar Navigation and Anchor Light

The Talamex Jupiter Solar 3-colour + anchor light LED runs entirely on solar power. This means no electrical wiring is required. This navigation light is designed for boats without a 12V onboard system. A rechargeable lithium battery provides the power. The burn time on a full charge ranges from over 150 hours in flashing mode to twelve hours with continuous white light.

You configure the lamp via buttons on the housing or with the included wireless remote control. There are plenty of modes: off, white flashing, SOS, steady white, steady tricolour, and steady red & green. A light sensor automatically switches the flashing mode on and off. This is convenient – but the sensor reacts to ambient light, not to the twilight that is important for navigation. Therefore, check yourself whether the lamp lights up on time.

The set includes mounting brackets for installation on a vertical or horizontal tube of 18 to 33 mm. Anti-bird spikes are designed to prevent birds from perching on the solar panel. These spikes are necessary – a dirty panel charges less effectively. Mounting is a one-time job, but maintenance remains.

This light is a solution for locations without a power supply. Think of a small sailing boat, a dinghy, or a jetty. The solar cell must capture sufficient daylight. During longer periods with little sun – or in winter – you should monitor the actual burn time. The visibility specifications apply under ideal conditions. Fog, rain, or poor visibility reduce that distance.
